A Date With Jet Screamer is the second episode of Season One of The Jetsons.

Summary

Despite George's best efforts (including substituting Elroy's secret code for her contest entry song), Judy wins a date with pop idol, Jet Screamer, who sings Judy's contest entry song, "Eep, Opp, Ork, Ah-ah!" which, despite its meaning in the song as "I love you," actually means "meet me tonight."

Notes/Trivia

Cultural references

  • Cosmic Cola is a parody of Coca-Cola.
  • Jet Screamer is somewhat based on Ricky Nelson, Elvis Presley, and other rock and roll teen idols of the 1950s and 1960s.

Inconsistencies

  • George playing the drums is a dues ex machina.
  • Judy isn't the least bit mad even from the beginning that her father followed her and Jet Screamer on their date.
  • Jet Screamer called the restaurant he and Judy were going to the "Spaceburger Drive-In", but the sign on top said "The Spaceburger".
  • At the end when Judy returns home and Jane asks her if she had a good time, Jane's purple stockings on her legs go missing briefly.
